Journal F
I enjoyed this year's Writing class. Not only in this class but in other classes, I learned that doing something on my own is important. In Japan, I don't need to read English, to speak in English, and to listen to English very much, but I should do them to learn English, so I have to do on my own. That' why I say it is important to do something on my own. I like the Dominion card game! It was not class activities, but it was my favorite activities. Journals are good challenges for me. Each journals are hard and interesting. Journal D which was supposed to write about an invention is especially hard, and Journal E which was supposed to write a fable is very interesting. Also, all paragraphs are very useful for me. I learned how to write a paragraph, but writing 80-100 words is difficult for me. When I didn' come up with any idea, it was hard to write 80 words, or when I came up with many ideas, it was hard not to write more 100 words. I think you should change to "Write more 80 words" from "Write 80-100 words". All class activities were enjoyable, but I was sorry for taking some naps for lack of sleep. Thank you for your enjoyable class, Mr. Waterman!

I'm *very* glad you enjoyed Dominion - and - hey, it IS a game. However, you had to read a lot of English and speak a little English to play it! Mwahahahah!!!! My evil(?) plan worked!!!

I *don't* want to change the limit on **paragraphs** to allow students to write more than 100 words. The first year I taught Writing 1 and 2 here I allowed that. The result was students didn't plan carefully what they wanted to write about, and their paragraphs turned into "Here's what I am thinking about right now." writing. Paragraph writing is partly about limiting what you write to communicate clearly to a reader.
Thanks for the helpful comments and suggestions!
