Today's activities

Today, I had only two classes.  I took Spanish III and Reading III.  In Spanish class, there were fourteen people.  I took it easily because the number of people was not many.  I enjoyed it.  In Reading III, we had to take an test to know how many English words we know, and I feel I have to study English harder.

After I finished classes, I went to the used cloth shop which is my favorite one on my foot.  The clerk is friendly and kind.  I often talk with him about clothes at the shop.  I want shirts or T-shirts colored by light pink or light yellow.  I think those colors make me feel spring.  I couldn't find cloth colored by those, but I find a pink T-shirt and like it.  Then I bought it.  I enjoyed my shopping.

Dear Host Family

Dear host family,

My name is geooooge. I’m a freshman of the KGU. I major in English. I’m 21 years old. In fact, I went to another university. I was a student of the engineering department but I felt that I was unsuitable for the department. At first, I wanted to study Japanese, so I studied to enter the Japanese department. I took the exam to enter the department and passed it, but I wanted to enter KGU because of the curriculum I saw when I researched about universities. I was interested in some classes, such as sociology, introduction to the history of Western World, and theory of American culture. Now, I enjoy my university life.

KGU is in Kumamoto and I live in Shimasaki, Kumamoto city. There is a bus stop, a train station, a hospital, a mountain and Kumamoto Castle nearby my house. It is convenient and a good place. I like my hometown. What sights are nearby your house?

I live with my family, my mother, my father, my sister, and me. I’m a teacher at a cram school as a part time job, so I’m interested in educating children. Do you have any children? How many people are there in your family?

I like to play sports and, I specially like to do Judo. I have done Judo for 3 years in high school. The practice was hard, and my house was far from high school but it seemed to be a good thing for me. I’m not good at playing sports. I didn’t like to play them, but I got confidence in those 3 years. Do you like to play sports? If so, what sports do you like?

Also, I like to read comics and books. I buy the weekly Jump every week. Comics make me excited. By the way, my favorite authors are Ryu Murakami, Ryotaro Shiba, and Tsuyoshi Mori. Ryu Murakami wrote novels and essays, and he made films. Ryotaro Shiba is a novelist, but he wrote travels too. Tsuyoshi Mori is a mathematician but he wrote essays. These days, I read “The Chrysanthemum and the Sword” which was written by Ruth Benedict, an American cultural anthropologist. It was written to understand Japanese after World War II. Do you like to read? What’s the best book you’ve ever read?

I’m looking forward to visiting you! See you!

Trip in spring vacation

I had traveled from March nineteenth to March twenty-ninth.

On March nineteenth morning, I woke up at six and a half o'clock.  I went to Kamikumamoto Station.
At Kamikumamoto Station, I got on a train for Araki Station at twenty eight, seven.  Arriving at Araki Station, I got on a train for Kokura Station at six past nine.  At Kokura Station, I got on a train for Shimonoseki Station.  At Shimonoseki Station, I had little time, so I got out the station and took pictures.
I was freedom of access to any JR Station because I used Seishun 18 Ticket which is freedom of access to any JR Station on the day and uses for five times.  After I left Shimonoseki, I went to Iwakuni.  I got on trains from Iwakuni to Mukainada, from Mukainada to Itozaki, from Itozaki to Okayama, from Okayama to Himeji, and from Himeji to Sannomiya.  I arrived at Sannomiya at twenty, twenty one, so it had taken from Kamikumamoto Station to Sannomiya Station for fourteen hours.  I was very tired.  There is my aunt's house in Sannomiya.  I visited her and would stay there for two days.

On March twentieth, I woke up at eight and ate breakfast with my aunt and cousin.  I was tired, so we talked a lot in their house on that day.

On March twenty-first, I left Sannomiya Station for Tokyo at thirty six, nine.  After I left Sannnomiya Station, I arrived at Kusatsu Station.  Kusatsu is in Shiga prefecture.  At Kusatsu Station, I changed trains.  I changed to a train for Tsuge Station.  Nearer the train got to Tsuge Station, more it go into woods.  I worried about arriving at Tokyo, but there was beautiful view and I to got near to Tokyo.  At Tsuge Station, I changed a train for Kameyama Station.  From Tsuge Station to Kameyama Station, there were a lot of beautiful views.  While I got on the train, I took some pictures; such as right picture.  Arriving at Kameyama Station, I was sure to go to Tokyo because Kameyama Station was as big as Sannomiya Station.  At Kameyama Station, I changed to a train for Nagoya Station.  When I arrived at Nagoya Station, it was at thirty-two, thirteen.  I was hungry and had little time until the next train, so I bought sandwiches and water at Kiosk.  At Nagoya Station, I changed to a train for Toyohashi Station.  At Toyohashi Station, I changed to a train for Shizuoka Station.  At Shizuoka Station, I changed to a train for Kannami Station.  At Kannami Station, I had little time, so I got out the station and walked around it.  It was beginning to get dark.  The station was on a hill, and there was a river near the station.  It was dark, so I couldn't see clearly, but I think that there might be beautiful.  Also, I changed to a train for Tokyoooo!  It had taken for about ten hours.  It might as well from Sannomiya to Tokyo as from Kumamoto to Sannomiya, but I was tired!  Arriving at Tokyo Station, I was at ease.
...However, I didn't have a place to stay on that night!  I thought it was easy after arriving at Tokyo, so I reserved a room at a hotel from twenty-second to twenty-fifth.  I would look for Manga-Kissa ―coffee shop or cafe where one can read manga, often has internet facility―  near Tokyo Station, but there was similar not to be any Manga-Kissa.  I decided to go to Ginza by a subway because I thought Ginza is urbane and there were any Manga-Kissa.  When I would give up looking for Manga-Kissa, my friend call me and tell me where Manga-Kissa was near there.  It was because he knew that I was looking for Manga-Kissa in Ginza on twitter.
When I arrived at a Manga-Kissa, it was at about twenty-two o'clock.  While I was there, I read manga and played computer.  I stayed up all night.  At six o'clock, I left there and went to hotel.  It was not time to check in, so I left my baggage with an information desk.  I was very sleepy, but I couldn't... When I could check in, it would be at fourteen o'clock.  I had to kill my time until then.  The hotel was near Kaminari Gate, so I walked around Asakusa and went to another Manga-Kissa.   I went to Ginza and walked around Hibiya and Shinbashi.  I had lunch for Shibire-Buta-Don at Juraku.  It was delicious.  After lunch, I continued walking and went back my hotel.  At fourteen o'clock, I went to the hotel and checked in.  I was very tired, so I took a shower and relaxed. After all, I slept at about twenty o'clock.
The hotel was a weekly apartment, so I could borrow cooking tools and cook myself.  However, I didn't cook.

On March twenty-third, I woke up at eight o'clock.  I was sorry about being rainy on that day, but I went out.  I would go to Harajuku, Shimokitazawa, and Koenji.  First, I went to Harajuku.  Getting off a subway, I walked into Takeshita Street.  The day was a weekday, but there were a lot of people.  After I went through the street, I found Meiji-jingu mae Station.  I had to get on a train for Shimokitazawa at the station.  I went to Hanjiro, which was a clothing store.  I bought a pair of jeans there.  Then, I went to Shimokitazawa.  Shimokitazawa was unique town.  There were a lot of used clothing stores.  I like used cloth, but I didn't buy any cloth there.  At Shimokitazawa and Harajuku, I had walked for about five hours.  I was tired, and it continued to rain, so I went back the hotel.  On the way, I had dinner at Saizeria.  A few hours later, my cousin visited me.  We talked a lot, watched TV, and drunk in my room.  He stayed at the night.

On March twenty-fourth, we woke up at about nine o'clock.  After my cousin went back his home, I took a shower and changed my cloth.  I was supposed to have dinner with my friends on Twitter.  I didn't know where the restaurant was, but I heard the place.  I would go there and make sure of where the restaurant was.  After that, I would walk, have lunch, and kill my time, but it took a lot of time to find the restaurant against my expectation.  I decided to kill my time until the appointed time.  Before the time came, one of the friends called me, and I saw him.  He was very unique and humorous.  I enjoyed myself with him.  We killed our time until the time.  At the time, we went into the restaurant and saw other two friends.  We started to drink at five o'clock haha!  Also, more other two persons were late for the time, so all member were six people.  I had never seen them, but they were very fun, and I enjoyed very much!  One of them said me "Will you walk around Ginza, Yotsuya, and Akihabara with me next day?"  I wanted to do, but I reserved the hotel from twenty-first to twenty-fifth, so I wouldn't have the place to stay next day.  However, he was kind and said "You can stay my house.  Will you come?"  Of course, I said "Thank you, I will."  On that day, we went back each home.  I was tired and happy!  I went back my room and went to bed.

On March twenty-fifth, when I planned to go back to Sannnomiya, I woke up at eight o'clock and sent e-mail to the friend.  His e-mail said he waited at near Ginza Station.  After I took a shower, I checked out hotel and went there by subway.  At the station, I rented a coin locker.  We saw at the front of Yodobashi Camera at about eleven o'clock.  First, We walked to Outer Gardens of Imperial Palace.  After that, we ate lunch for yakiniku.  Next, we walked to Akihabara.  At Akihabara, my friend looked some parts of PC.  After we looked some shops at Akihabara, we walked to Ueno.  We went to Ueno Onshi Park.  In the park, cherry blossoms bloomed a little, so I wanted to go there again to see cherry blossoms.  There was a shop in the park, and I bought a handkerchief as a present for my grandmother.  We walked around the park and decided where we would have dinner.  It named Bubba Gump Shrimp.  We went back to Ginza, and I received my baggage from a coin locker.  We went to the restaurant and waited before there would be any vacant seat.  Seats became vacant, and we started to drunk.  When we ordered, my friend's wife came.  We talked and ate a lot.  We were satisfied and went back their home.  I slept their sofa.

On March twenty-sixth, my friend had to go to work at six and a half, so I went to nearest station with him.  I went to Sannomiya again.  First, I had to go to Atami Atation, but I went to Izu by mistake.  Then, I had to go back to Atami Station.  There was a spring of Ieyasu at the front of Atami Station.  After the train arrived at Atami Station, I changed a train for Shizuoka Station.  At Shizuoka Station, I changed a train for Hamamatsu Station.  Leaving Hamamatsu Station, I went to Toyohashi Station.  At Toyohashi Station, I changed a train for Maibara Station.  Leaving Maibara Station, I went to Sannomiya Station directly.  I arrived at Sannomiya Station at seven past seventeen.  I went to my aunt's house again.  I thanked her very much.

On March twenty-seventh, I got up at about nine o'clock.  I relaxed for little hours and left for Hiroshima.  I planned to meet my friend of before university.  I had to go to Saijo Station.  I got on a train for Himeji Station at Sannomiya Station.  At Himeji Station, I had some time, so I got off the station and went to Himeji Castle.  However, Himeji Castle was under construction. I thought the castle, which was under construction, was rare and took pictures.  Leaving Himeji, I got on a train for Okayama.  At Okayama, I changed a train for Itozaki Station.  Leaving Itozaki Station, I went to Saijo Station.  At the station, my friend came to meet me by car.  I rode on his car.  He said "There are a practice of my volley ball circle, so shall we go?"  I said "OK,yes." We went to the place and played volley ball.  After that, we went to eat okonomiyaki.  I had never eaten okonomiyaki of Hiroshima for two years.  It was very delicious.  Also, we went to super market to buy alcohol and foods.  At that night, we talked a lot each other and drunk.  When I noticed, I slept.

On March twenty-eighth, we got up at about eleven o'clock.  We went to eat udon by car.  Was it lunch or breakfast? I don't know.  We went back his home and relaxed.  At three o'clock, we went to Saijo Station by car.  I would leave Saijo and go to Kurume.  We said good-bye and promised to see again.  I got on a train for Iwakuni Station at Saijo Station.  It took long time...  Leaving Iwakuni, I got on a train for Shimonoseki Station.  At Shimonoseki Station, I changed a train for Moji Station.  Leaving Moji Station, I got on a train for Arao Station.  On the way, the train stopped at Kurume.  In Kurume, there was my senior in high school.  He came to meet by his old girl friend's car with her.  We went his home, and I ate dinner for Karaage-Bento.  After that, we watched TV and talked.  They were very fun.  I took a shower and slept.

On March twenty-ninth, I got up at seven o'clock and ate breakfast.  My senior's old girl friend went to work at eight o'clock.  My senior and I watched TV, talked and relaxed.  When it was ten o'clock, we went out.  He had something to do, and I went back my home.  I had to go to Kurume Station, so we got on a bus.  On the way, my senior got off, so I said good-bye.  When I arrived at Kurume Station, the idea came up to me. It was visiting my grandmother and giving a present on my way to Kumamoto.  I called my mother and told that.  She was supposed to go grandmother's house.  I would go to grandmother's house and go back home by my mother's car. At the Kurume Station, I got on a train for Araki Station.  Leaving Araki Station, I changed a train for Kumamoto Station.  At Tamana Station, I got off the train and walked to my grandmother's house.  Grandmother was glad for my visiting and my present.  I was happy....

Those were my trip in spring vacation.  It was very very interesting.  I will do it again.

Today's activities

When I was at home, I received a call by Riv.  She said "Let's go to a prefectural general gymnasium!"  I said "Yes, let's go!"  We had taken exercise for about two hours, such as running and training.  After that, Riv wanted to play badminton, but sky was darking.  We decided to cook dinner at Riv's house.  We bought chicken breasts, pork back ribs, shiitake mushroom, paper plates, and skewers.  Yes, we decided to make spit-roastings!  Pork back ribs was already cutted, so we cut chicken breasts and spit them.  We made sauce which was mixed cooking sake, soy sauce, and sugar.  We roasted them and ate.  It was very delicious.  We had had enough.  Then, Riv said to want to go to Karaoke.  It was already past ten o'clock.  We called Valle and invited to go to Karaoke.  He agreed with pleasure.  We waited Valle, and rode bycicle to Karaoke.  We had been for over six hours.  Valle and Riv were sleeping for a while, but I sang all niht.  At five o'clock in the morning, we went out Karaoke and went to MacDonald.  We had been there for about a hour.  Then, we go back Riv's home.  We wanted to sleep!  We were in Riv's house until eight o'clock and went back each home.  After I arrived my home, I took a bath and slept in a futon.  However, I had to go a part-time job, so I woke up three o'clock and prepare to go out.  My part-time job is a teacher of cram school.  When I taught students today, I was very sleepy, so I was sorry to my students.  Now, I came back my home and wrote this dialy.  I'm gonna sleep!  See you!

Today's activities

Spring vacation started on Feburary 4th!  In the morning, I got up and got ready to go out with my mother.  We had to buy a present for my father.  My father's birthday was close.  While we looked for something for present, I was called by my friend, Linda.  She had nothing to do, so she was boring.  That' why she called me.  We made a promise to meet the station.  Then, I continued to look for present with my mother, and we decided to give Father a knitted hat.  After that, I separated my mother and got on a train.  At the station, I got off the train and waited her.  She came by bicycle.  At first, we wanted to have lunch, so we went to Sushi-ro.  However, before we arrived at Sushi-ro, there were XEBIO.  Linda wanted to look for something at the XEBIO.  Then, we got into XEBIO.  At XEBIO, we ran into Matsu.  I didn't notice, but he found us and said "Oh, hi geoooorge!"  He looked for the wear to do running, so I and Linda went to Sushi-ro and got him waiting.  We eaten Sushi as fast as we could.  After we finished eating, we linked up with Matsu.  He came to XEBIO by car.  Linda want to do playing ball.  We went to Matsu's house to get a soccer ball.  We started playing ball and called Gam to invited the game.  He would have come, but it started to rain while we did.  We went to pick up Gam.  When we met Gam, it rained harder.  We wasn't able to do playing ball, and it had been five o'clock.  We discussed and decided to cook a hot-pot.  We went to buy ingredients, pot, and cooking stove.  We cooked Kimch Hot-pot and Giblets Hot-pot at Linda's house.  We enjoyed it!  It was a good day!

Today's activities

I took TOEIC examination in this morning.  It was not difficult but too long, and I had lost my concentration.  I felt that I should spend a lot of time to reading and to listen to English.  I should use English naturally and become not to need concentration.  After TOEIC, I and my friends went to the restaurant, Jolly Pasta, and we decided to go to batting cage together.  There were three members but I and one friend, Masaru, went there the other should go back.  We went there on our feet.  I'm not good at batting, but my batting skill improved today!  I hardly hit a ball at first.  Then, I hit more balls.  I became very happy.  While we had spent at the batting cage, we call another friend Jin, and we would go to AEON Mall by Jin's car.  We arranged to meet Jin at the TSUTAYA near Youme Town Hamasen, so we walked to there.  It took longer than our expection.  We kept Jin waiting for about half an hour.  We met him and drove to AEON Mall.  At AEON Mall, we enjoyed window shopping and eaten ice cream.  To finish driving, we were lent a soccer ball from Jin and call Yoshi.  I and Masaru invited him to do ball playing.  He said "Of course, yes!"  I was not good at ball playing too but I enjoyed it.  We did ball playing for about three hours.  After that, we go to Masaru's house and ordered two pizzas.  We eaten them, and it were very delicious!  Today is very fun day!

Journal F

I enjoyed this year's Writing class.  Not only in this class but in other classes, I learned that doing something on my own is important.  In Japan, I don't need to read English, to speak in English, and to listen to English very much, but I should do them to learn English, so I have to do on my own.  That' why I say it is important to do something on my own.  I like the Dominion card game!  It was not class activities, but it was my favorite activities.  Journals are good challenges for me.  Each journals are hard and interesting.  Journal D which was supposed to write about an invention is especially hard, and Journal E which was supposed to write a fable is very interesting.  Also, all paragraphs are very useful for me.  I learned how to write a paragraph, but writing 80-100 words is difficult for me.  When I didn' come up with any idea, it was hard to write 80 words, or when I came up with many ideas, it was hard not to write more 100 words.  I think you should change to "Write more 80 words" from "Write 80-100 words".  All class activities were enjoyable, but I was sorry for taking some naps for lack of sleep.  Thank you for your enjoyable class, Mr. Waterman!
